Wormy out today

March 30, 2017 by ds83473@gmail.com

Walking to work on a rainy Thursday, the sidewalk was populated with worms. I tried  not to step on them. The soundtrack was a little jingle us kids used to sing, which Wikiedia tells me is the Hearse Song:

The worms crawl in
The worms crawl out
The worms crawl higgeldy all about
And one little fellow who’s not too shy
Will crawl in your nose and out your eye.

Unfortunately, when I was walking home – and it was much less wormy, but at one place felt the sidewalk come up to me, and at another got dizzy, I started envisioning my own skull with the worms … and my overbite. I guess that is the definition of memento mori.
