Deb's Lunch ... and Dinner and Breakfast too

When I’m 64

August 11, 2019 by ds83473@gmail.com

Part of being this age is being unable to escape this song for this birthday.

I just scrolled through the comments on the YouTube and some of them are pretty good, especially the guy who said he never thought he’d get to 64, which seemed impossibly old back in 1967 when Sargeant Pepper’s came out and he was 13 and a Beatles fan (I was 12, and loved the Beatles, but was soon to discover the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Quicksilver, Fairport Convention, The Byrds, King Crimson, Lead Zeppelin …. too many to list, all of whom started to mean a lot more to me than the Fab Four. Though I loved the Fabs); went on to say “Eat well and exercise, make fitness your foremost hobby and these years will truly be the best ever.”

Huh. I think I’m keeping to the program somewhat. I went for a long bike ride first thing this morning. Yesterday I probably biked at least an hour, and walked 10,000 steps although many of those steps were going to get beers at Miller Park. And everyone knows I eat well.

Cases in point:

Friday morning latte at Colectivo – right before my dermatologist appointment where they whacked off a few suspicious spots, one on my leg that had been bothering me, and one on my back that I knew nothing about that the Dr. didn’t like

Saturday morning oats milk latte – foams pretty good from shaking the carton. I was out of cow’s milk

Much later Saturday sandwich breakfast – boiled egg, Jarlsberg cheese, cucumber, and tomato on buttered toast

Birthday morning cherry & peach cobbler

And scenes from the backyard and Miller Park – we went for Dead night.
