Deb's Lunch ... and Dinner and Breakfast too

Been a long time

No, not Led Zeppelin, me and you, dear blog readers, all 2 or 3 of you (I know my brother reads me off & on, same as I read him, and at least one old friend does, and when I link a post on facebook, I think a few more people look and even share, which is nice) – although the sentiments of the song, “been a long time since I rock and rolled … Ooh let me get it back, let me get it back” are definitely reflective of how I’m feeling about blog posting these days.

Work’s been stupid busy, and while I have been doing lots of cooking: 3 CSA boxes in a row, with 2 recipe writing weeks in there –  I haven’t been talking about it much.

So let’s see what I can remember, of interest.

I think the last time I wrote was the weekend when we bought a ton, well about 10 pounds probably, of blueberries at the big farmers market on the square. Last Saturday we got some at the big market and more at the pick up market. So the cooking and just plain eating of mass amounts of blueberries continued this week. On Sunday we had blueberry cream cheese cake (based on Yossy Arefi and nice, the first recipe on her blog right now is no-churn blueberry ice cream) and an all-squash brunch.

I like this cake because you chop the cream cheese up in little squares and fold it in. No remembering to soften it required.

Megan made a blueberry cake that weekend, too. She said it’s Simple Blueberry Basque Cheesecake


 
And my mom’s 18th yahrzeit (see current blog banner) and Al & Emma’s 5th wedding anniversary were also last weekend – but this is going to have to be continued … more soon … probably next Tuesday.
