Here’s another post sticking to food.
It was kind of a quiet Mother’s Day this year. No big gatherings, just me & Mark for brunch, after a walk.

Mom’s Day coffee at Colectivo – nice to sit outside

Scrambled eggs with asparagus & goat cheese, whole wheat sourdough toast, bacon, fingerling potatoes.

The fingerlings were getting sprouty

But they cleaned up nice
And rhubarb cimmy buns, from Trine Hahnemann, though hers are much neater than mine.

Here they are raw; I put them in the fridge to rise overnight. The smaller pan was for Susan

She baked them with her grandkids on Sunday morning.

I baked ours on Sunday morning, too.

Later I made some of the King Arthur swirled rhubarb bars. They always start off nice and chewy and then get soft as the rhubarb seeps in.

Mother’s Day flowers in the kitchen

And a better pic in the sun room

Jasper came Monday, because we’re going to Milwaukee to see Molly Tuttle on Wednesday. And dinner out at Amilinda. I’ll tell you all about it later.

Monday picnic at the park, featuring the extra bacon I cooked Sunday, so there’d be some for Jasper, and yogurt with rhubarb, “whubarb” as Jasper calls it.

He got a baby tiger stuffie

It’s very cute

He likes it a lot, or he did on Monday!
