On Friday, I baked a pumpkin pie when I got home from work, so we could eat it after the symphony for a late night dessert. I used the leftover pumpkin I got to take home after the baking thousands of pies for Goodman Community Center<\/a>, the weekend before the election.<\/p>\n

Kind of Libby’s pumpkin pie<\/a>, but I used half & half instead of evaporated milk, and a graham cracker crust<\/p><\/div>On Saturday, I traded in my leased Subaru Impreza for a Crosstrek.<\/p>\n

\"New

New car – the Crosstrek is a lot more tricked out than the Impreza. The joy of leasing – $99 and I walked away with a new car<\/p><\/div>It had 9 miles on the odometer when I got it home Saturday. It has about 150 now because we drove to the Harvard train, to go to Chicago for a day trip Sunday to see Fun Home<\/a>. Appropriate for this year. The lead actress said, when they were asking for donations at the end, “We cannot go back to the America that killed Bruce Bechdel.”<\/p>\n

I baked pumpkin muffins<\/a> with the last of that leftover Libby’s pumpkin, and the dried fruit soaked in brandy from the election day cake<\/a> I made for Kristin – also before the election. It’s a resurrected Colonial recipe that I think we both heard about on NPR<\/a>.<\/p>\n
