The restaurant calls it &#8220;Wild Mushroom Teriyaki Bowl&#8221;, green vegetable &amp; sticky rice stir-fry, citrus ponzu, cashew, garden herb salad.<\/p>\n<p>The overleaf picture is driving home that day, raggy clouds over Janesville, but no rain on us.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15671\" src=\"https:\/\/www.debslunch.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/beatrixricebowl.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"488\" height=\"650\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.debslunch.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/beatrixricebowl.jpg 488w, https:\/\/www.debslunch.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/beatrixricebowl-113x150.jpg 113w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 488px) 100vw, 488px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>My thinking was that I&#8217;d surround pics of the meals out with pics of dishes cooked at home. Here&#8217;s a crunchy cabbage salad I&#8217;d made at home, that was actually similar to another menu item at the same lunch place, <span class=\"item-name secondary-font\">Ginger Chicken Crunch Salad. My version is based on <a href=\"https:\/\/cooking.nytimes.com\/recipes\/1025402-crunchy-noodle-and-tofu-salad\">Hetty McKinnon<\/a>, and didn&#8217;t have any chicken, although there are some slices of baked tofu in there. I also didn&#8217;t have celery so I used more cabbage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15672\" src=\"https:\/\/www.debslunch.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/tofucrunchsalad.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"514\" height=\"650\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.debslunch.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/tofucrunchsalad.jpg 514w, https:\/\/www.debslunch.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/tofucrunchsalad-119x150.jpg 119w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 514px) 100vw, 514px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Around the same time, I made this <a href=\"https:\/\/debslunch.com\/new-recipes\/spicy-tofu-over-noodles-greens\/\">tofu and noodle dish that I had written up for CSA<\/a>. I put a few things together, for this recipe too &#8211; the dan dan prepared tofu is adapted from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bonappetit.com\/recipe\/saucy-tofu-noodles-with-cucumbers-and-chili-crisp\">recipe in Bon Appetit<\/a>. Here&#8217;s a set of vegetarian, low cholesterol, sandwiches, and a King Arthur <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingarthurbaking.com\/recipes\/cinnamon-whole-wheat-scones-recipe\">Whole Wheat Cinnamon Scone<\/a> recipe that I tried.<\/p>\n<p>Peashoot, red pepper, and yellow tomato sandwich on home made sourdough toast that I had for lunch one day when I had Jasper. It does have a little mayo spread on the toast as you can tell from the knife. He said, my mommy would eat that sandwich. I made the glaze with water instead of milk because I noted that the glaze on this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.debslunch.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/lemonpistachiobread.jpg\">vegan pistachio bread<\/a>, made with lemon juice stayed nice &amp; hard, didn;t melt after a few days like glaze made with dairy. Not even sure how long ago I ate that, but it was good. The beans and potatoes were very comforting. I do remember that I had to throw out the&nbsp; last of the salsa because it got moldy. I think the throwing out was during the fridge purge after ALA, so the quesadilla must&#8217;ve been in early June. My phone says the picture was taken June 18.
