{"id":3014,"date":"2018-03-03T21:15:34","date_gmt":"2018-03-04T03:15:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.debslunch.com\/blog\/?p=3014"},"modified":"2018-03-03T21:21:17","modified_gmt":"2018-03-04T03:21:17","slug":"the-groundhogs-were-wrong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.debslunch.com\/blog\/2018\/03\/03\/the-groundhogs-were-wrong\/","title":{"rendered":"The groundhogs were wrong"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As far as I know, both <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wkow.com\/story\/37411956\/2018\/02\/Friday\/jimmy-the-groundhog-gets-ready-to-make-winter-prediction\">Sun Prairie Jimmy<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2018\/02\/01\/582448208\/groundhog-day-behind-the-scenes-with-punxsutawney-phils-inner-circle\">Punxatawney Phil<\/a> (the real groundhog as far as a Pittsburgh girl like me is concerned) predicted six more weeks of winter on February 2nd. But here we are on March 3, a mere four weeks later, and it kind of seems like winter is over. The snow is completely gone, it&#8217;s dry and sunny, going down to the 30s at night and 40s and 50s in the daytime. Just like spring.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not going to talk about how disappointing this winter has been overall. Bitter cold in January, and no snow. February was even worse, a roller coaster of snow, then rain, then ice. No, I&#8217;d never say that it&#8217;s been weird &#8211; the snow just couldn&#8217;t last, and no good snow to play in.<\/p>\n<p>And, I&#8217;m really not ready for spring. I want a few more weeks of wearing fleece and other soft snugly clothes, and eating hearty foods.
