I did a bunch of Fall-ish cooking things, including dealing with my 25 pounds of plum tomatoes that I biked up to the Square and purchased on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>In the freezer, I now have a quart of herbed, chunky tomato sauce, one batch of <a href=\"https:\/\/cooking.nytimes.com\/recipes\/1015178-marcella-hazans-tomato-sauce\">Marcella&#8217;s butter tomato sauce<\/a>, 4 1\/2 cartons of overnight roasted tomatoes, 3 cartons of diced tomatoes, and about one and a half quarts of plain red sauce, for pizza or lasagna, or for adding meat or other stuff into. Rach and I had roasted tomatoes on top of goat cheese on toast for breakfast on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>I bought apples at the market, and made applesauce.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday I helped cook &amp; serve the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Bn5GKyjHvuB\/\">food pantry brunch at Goodman<\/a>, and some of the potatoes were heart shaped.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday I assisted Chef Ed at the Eat Smart in Germany Dinner at Vom Fass. I made the apple wine cakes. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldcat.org\/oclc\/793221824\">author of the book, Mary Bergin<\/a>, took a pic of me when I arrived with the cakes, and I look so old, I decided to supplement with a selfie once I was home in PJs.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday we went to see Joel Shapiro at MMoCA. Good show, but I especially liked the E for Orpheum that I could see through the window beyond the sculptures.<\/p>\n<p>[portfolio_slideshow pagerpos=&#8221;disabled&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>After the art, we went to Lucille and ordered a pizza to go because it was a little too loud and crowded to eat in. <a href=\"http:\/\/lucillemadison.com\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/gallery-optimized-ss\/Cheers-cover.jpg\">The bartender<\/a>, who is a friend of Al&#8217;s I think, but I thought was a friend of John&#8217;s, to his confusion, treated me to a free beer &#8211; I didn&#8217;t tip him enough. The pizza was good when we finally got it home. What I would call school cafeteria style &#8211; square and thick &#8211; or maybe Pittsburgh or Detroit style pizza, but I know the current term is sheet pan pizza.<\/p>\n<p>And I finally folded that basket of laundry that&#8217;s been in my room for something like 2 weeks.
