I made coffee with my brother’s stove top espresso maker and only boiled the milk over a little bit. Electric stove … And I couldn’t find the nice little All-clad pot for the milk. I wonder if he took it with him?<\/p>\n
I obviously brought the right pajamas<\/a>.<\/p>\n And we upheld family tradition for trips to Seattle. We shop at the Market<\/a> – super crowded today with tourists and people buying that something special for NYE – and Deb cooks dinner. We had buttered green beans, that came already trimmed – all I had to do was rinse them and steam them – mashed potatoes, and salmon with the butter-soy sauce-maple glaze we invented during our first trip to TIFF<\/a>. Like all Canadian refrigerators, my brother’s almost-empty fridge had a jug of maple syrup. It’s like how an\u00a0almost-empty US fridge will have a crusty jar of mustard and a bottle ketchup, Canadian fridges have these things plus maple syrup. Maybe the proximity of Seattle to Vancouver insures maple syrup here, too. And, wow, my post from back then says we paid $4.99\/pound for that salmon – the stuff from the fish-flinging stand here was like 4x that much.
