Stephen Shore, Lewis Baltz, Ed Ruscha, Robert Adams, and this is <a href=\"https:\/\/americanart.si.edu\/artist\/howard-kottler-5905\">Howard Kottler<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t<\/dd><\/dl><br style=\"clear: both\" \/>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>We had lunch at a brew pub, then rode the bus back to Dave &amp; Jen&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p>For entertainment, we went to see <a href=\"https:\/\/g.co\/kgs\/e7F34k\">The Favourite<\/a> at an art house, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.siff.net\/year-round-cinema\/cinema-venues\/siff-cinema-egyptian\">SIFF Egyptian<\/a>. We had a little difficulty navigating and finding parking, but still were in our seats for the start of the previews. I liked the film&#8217;s depiction of 18th century court intrigue, although it did get a little arty at times.<\/p>\n<p>On the last day of 2018, I took the dog for a longish walk and got a coffee at Starbucks. After I got back to the house, it got a lot foggier. We went for another walk in the fog, Mark and I this time, rather than the dog and I, and tried out another coffee place that was ultimately hipster, single source beans and lots of LP records displayed on the wall. We went by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cupcakeroyale.com\/locations\/\">cupcake place on the way home<\/a> and picked up a red velvet cupcake and a triple chocolate cupcake.<\/p>\n<p>I went grocery shopping by car and bought the ingredients for a New Year&#8217;s Eve cheeseboard, and for black eyed peas and greens and ham for New Year&#8217;s Day.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4057\" style=\"width: 660px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4057\" class=\"wp-image-4057 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.debslunch.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/NYEcheeseboard.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"604\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.debslunch.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/NYEcheeseboard.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.debslunch.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/NYEcheeseboard-150x139.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.debslunch.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/NYEcheeseboard-484x450.jpg 484w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-4057\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fennel salami, baguette slices, Jarlsberg, marinated feta &amp; olives, chipotle cheese (from WI), Kirkland sharp white cheddar, honey crisp apple slices, dates &amp; apricots, butterfly-shaped butter crackers and dried cranberry &amp; nut crisps, soft goat cheese, and a few cherry tomatoes scattered randomly about<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The cheeseboard wasn&#8217;t the right food for Mark &amp; Anna, so we went and got <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centralpizzaseattle.com\/\">a pizza<\/a>, too. New York style.<\/p>\n<p>Even though the fog lifted we wimped out and didn&#8217;t go outdoors to see the fireworks. Instead we live-streamed local channel 5 on Jen&#8217;s big iMac. The 10 minute display (sponsored by T-Mobile, hence the magenta lighting on the needle) had an all-women soundtrack that started with Heart, included the <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/pSQk-4fddDI\">hit song from The Greatest Showman<\/a>, Lady Gaga, and ended <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/6FOUqQt3Kg0\">with &#8216;Reatha<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>[portfolio_slideshow pagerpos=disabled]<\/p>\n<p>On the first day of 2019, I took the dog for essentially the same walk as the day before, but I tried to stick to streets instead of the paths through the woods. Initially a good idea but it meant the walk home was all uphill, a plus 308-foot rise, Google said. We found an abandoned teddy.
