I’ve been home for almost a week and of course the most important thing is what I’ve been cooking.<\/p>\n

My last Canadian meal was a Tim Horton’s donut.<\/p>\n

I can’t remember what I had for dinner when I got home Monday.<\/p>\n

Tuesday morning getting ready to work, I brewed a pot of coffee with no coffee.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Tuesday after work I biked over to the East side farmers market and bought cherry tomatoes, a big bag of spicy greens, like mustard and argula, and a winter squash. I roasted the beets that I had in the fridge, and the squash, and made a salad with the spicy greens and beets and squash and egg and goat cheese.<\/p>\n

Wednesday I made vegan rice pudding.<\/p>\n

Thursday morning I volunteered at the Friends of Libraries book sale, and got to go through a couple boxes of old books. I saw horrible, racist, Dutch writing about the Hottentots, from the 17th century; August Derleth; lots of books about great lakes ships; and lyrics that are in a Grateful Dead song (Mountains of the Moon<\/a>) in an old book of folk songs.<\/p>\n

And this FLW rant from his book The Disappearing City<\/a> (not as fancy an edition as this one). I mean, I knew about Broadacre City<\/a>, and the “city is everywhere and nowhere” but this is a bit beyond.<\/p>\n
