I&#8217;m not as active as during cookie season when I&#8217;m baking till all hours of the night; I&#8217;m more sedentary in the evening, reading or watching TV.<\/p>\n<p>Plus this year Mark&#8217;s home full time, a big change to the schedule we&#8217;ve had for the last 5 years. He&#8217;s more likely to eat nothing much during the day and want a real dinner where I prefer more eating in the day time, and less at dinner time. Of course he&#8217;d be the first to tell me that I don&#8217;t have to make dinner on his account &#8211; but it&#8217;s nice to have dinner together, so I like to do it. But I&#8217;m sure it&#8217;s better for my health to skip dinner once in awhile.<\/p>\n<p>Case in point &#8211; today so far: for breakfast at home I had an eggnog latte, the last of the second carton of eggnog I bought over the holidays, then for second breakfast at work I ate a bowl (plastic container actually) of the Ashure cereal with a 1\/2 cup of whole milk that I brought in a bottle from a Starbucks mocha, and a small apple cut up into it. For a snack later today I have 2 clementines. My diet &amp; exercise app tells me I&#8217;ll have about 880 calories left for dinner = not really enough, plus if I go buy another latte or snack, or typical for this time of year, break into the leftover cookies, I could easily blow it. Peanut butter bagel with apricot jam on the 2nd half.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The diet and exercise app says I&#8217;m OK on calories today. Whew.<\/p>\n<p>Monday for dinner we had our leftover fish from Friday fish fry made into tacos with that slaw, above, and avocados. Leftover Hoppin&#8217; John on the side. The app says I was OK that day. Tuesday we decided to try out a new neighborhood restaurant, <a href=\"https:\/\/cadrerestaurant.com\/\">Cadre<\/a>. French food using WI ingredients, and I decided, rather than Bouillabaisse or beef bourguignon, or even moules frites &#8211; or steak frites for that matter &#8211; to have the soup of the day, and a bread, Brie, and olives platter.
