Deb's Lunch ... and Dinner and Breakfast too

Trying to act normal

November 14, 2016 by ds83473@gmail.com

On Friday, I baked a pumpkin pie when I got home from work, so we could eat it after the symphony for a late night dessert. I used the leftover pumpkin I got to take home after the baking thousands of pies for Goodman Community Center, the weekend before the election.

Kind of Libby's pumpkin pie, but I used half & half instead of evaporated milk, and a graham cracker crust

On Saturday, I traded in my leased Subaru Impreza for a Crosstrek.

New car - the Crosstrek is a lot more tricked out than the Impreza. The joy of leasing - $99 and I walked away with a new car

It had 9 miles on the odometer when I got it home Saturday. It has about 150 now because we drove to the Harvard train, to go to Chicago for a day trip Sunday to see Fun Home. Appropriate for this year. The lead actress said, when they were asking for donations at the end, “We cannot go back to the America that killed Bruce Bechdel.”

I baked pumpkin muffins with the last of that leftover Libby’s pumpkin, and the dried fruit soaked in brandy from the election day cake I made for Kristin – also before the election. It’s a resurrected Colonial recipe that I think we both heard about on NPR.

And, I just now went out to take pictures of the Super Moon.
